FAQ

How many movies does Hollywood make a year?

Hollywood studios produce about 3,000 films each year. Three thousand!

These films are marketed by Hollywood, which spends billions of dollars. They spend millions to produce them. They also spend millions marketing them. However, how many actually make it to the theaters?

Most likely, the answer is around 200-300. The question is, what happens to all the other 2,700+ films? Most of them are either released direct-to-video or just sit in storage.

But not all of them are destined to go unseen. Some have been chosen for distribution via Netflix or Amazon Prime, Hulu Plus and iTunes, Google Play and other platforms.

Why don't they get more? Why aren’t they being shown in theaters instead? Because they're too expensive to produce.

And if they were cheaper to produce, they'd be released into theaters.

I can help. I can help you to find the best way to get your film into theaters.

You'll learn how to maximize your return and increase the chances of your movie being shown in theaters.

Let's face the facts...

It can be difficult to get your movie into theaters. This process can be complicated, lengthy, and filled with legalities.

It might also cost you a lot before you start.

The time frame in which your film can be distributed is also very limited.

There simply isn't enough time between when a film is finished, and its theatrical run begins.

Is there any Hollywood Walk of Fame without a fee?

Yes! You don't have to pay anything to visit the Hollywood Walk of Fame. For photographers, you need a permit. They cost $15 per head.

A valid ID is required if you are planning to visit the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

If you're under 18, you must be accompanied at all times by someone 21 or older.

You can't enter the walkway before 10 am.

You can't leave the walkway if you have already paid.

Cameras are not allowed on the walkway.

Why isn't there more crowdfunding sites such as Indiegogo and Kickstarter for filmmakers?

Crowdfunding platforms are fantastic because they allow you direct contact with potential investors.

Most filmmakers don’t believe they have the right to ask for money. They feel they need someone to stand by them.

And since they haven't proven themselves yet, they don't think anyone should invest in them.

Instead, they spend months working hard on their project in the hope that someone will notice.

Then, once they finally launch their campaign, they realize they didn't prepare properly.

They end up with only a few donations, instead of thousands of dollars.

How much does Hollywood make in a year?

Producing a movie can cost around $100 million. If you produced ten movies per year for a decade you would have enough money to purchase a small country.

You would have your own island, including an airport, a power station, a bank and a post office.

If you don't find this to be fun, then you are probably insane.

How much of the box-office revenue is spent on marketing budgets?

Marketing budgets often account for 20%-40% of the film's budget. Marketing is crucial to any film's success.

Marketing is the only way to make sure that your film is known. Without knowing about your film, no one wants to pay to see it.

Do foreign sales make Hollywood more than domestic sales?

Yes, but only slightly. About 17% of total revenue was generated abroad in 2017. 83% of total revenue came from domestic sources.

Over half of the world’s population is found in overseas markets.

This means that even those who have never seen a movie at their home, many will still be interested in your movie.
